Kyleigh and her dad made their way back East last week, stopping in Yellowstone and various other places along the way.
My other 4 grandchildren have started virtual school this past week. The two older boys are Kyleigh's brothers Keaton and Jaeger. Keaton has been watching his two younger cousins this summer. This was the first day of school picture this year.
So this week I started and completed this Kathy Schmitz stitchery from the One Stitch at a Time Club. I really like the way this one came out.
I also finished the last block from Pieces from the Past Sew Along by Melva @Melva Loves Scraps. These are blocks originally from the Kansas City Star. Melva got special permission from C&T Publishing her to share these blocks with us. This is called the Russian Sunflower.
This week for Slow Sunday Stitching @ Kathy's Quilts I plan to work on last month's Cassandra's Circle block, the Wild Rose. Right now I just have the stems down, and the center flower.
Next up, will be finishing up this tea towel. I set it aside before. This is the second time I have made this design. It will be for my sister for Christmas.
I will be linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching @ Kathy's Quilts, Be sure and head over there and see what everyone else has been up to. I always get my weekly inspiration reading about what everyone has been doing.
I always think Kyleigh has the most beautiful smile. You must be so happy Kyleigh and her dad made it safely back to the east. Your completed stitchery is so sweet. I love the words, especially poignant in these times. The Russian Sunflower is beautiful; just look at all those points. Enjoy your Sunday stitching of Cassandra's Circle block....it is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour bee kind embroidery turned out so lovely! I am still deciding on threads. Love love love your sunflower block!!!! Such beautiful grands hope everyone stays safe
ReplyDeleteYou have some great stitching projects in the works. I love Be Kind and the Russian Sunflower.

This is a very different kickoff for our grandkiddos for school this year, isn't it?! I love your KS stitchery! I got it but haven't done anything with it yet. Love that chocolate one, too! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Russian Sunflower and your Bee Kind embroidery are both lovely! My sons start back to school tomorrow. It's a very strange "back to school" online this year.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful projects, nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love that russian sunflower block...is that an epp pattern?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful smile Kyleigh has... her family ready for school will be a memorable fall. I hope by January kids can SAFELY return to the classroom. I agree though that home remains the best place for now.
I just love all the embroidery you are sharing! You have sooo inspired me on my embroidery and I hope to continue seeing more embroidery on Sunday visits :D
Kathi
Kyleigh will always remember this special trip she took with her dad. It looks like virtual school shall be starting in our area also. The kids I know are not happy. Bee Kind is nicely done. Sunflower blocks are always happy. Enjoy your applique.
ReplyDeleteLove the Bee Kind embroidery, Karrin! The Russian Sunflower looks wonderful! It also looks like a complicated block to make!
ReplyDeleteMy grands start virtual school next week. What a world we are living in!
This weekend, I am blessed to have family visiting! No sewing, but lots of cuddles and family time! :)
Your granddaughter is just beautiful! I want your so pretty honey bee block.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun projects!
ReplyDeleteI love the saying on that tea towel - fits my thinking perfectly! You have lots of other fun stitching going on there, too, Karrin. Hope it's a good school year for all of your grands - it's a tough time to figure everything out for students and families.
ReplyDeleteSo so fun to be working on the same project! Go slowly so you don't finish way before me! LOL Great job on the Bee Kind stitchery! Thanks for taking the time to link up with the Slow Sunday Stitchers!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is just beautiful! I hope she and her dad arrived safely.
ReplyDeleteYou Bee Kind block with the bee and skep are charming. Such fine embroidery. And your Russian Sunflower -- such a lot of careful piecing and stitching. It looks great! I like the message on your tea towel. I'm not a quitter either. ;-) Must have a little chocolate every day.
