Slow Sunday Stitching

Other than our quilt guild board meeting this week, I had the week pretty much to myself.  One of my aqua yoga classes was cancelled.

I had a chance to get caught up on my Stay at Home Round Robin.  I ended up making more 8 more kite blocks to fill in blanks.  Unfortunately I made 4 of them wrong, not paying attention to what I was doing.

I took them out and fixed them.  This is the entire top.

I plan to quilt it and show it at guild meeting in 10 days or so, and then it will be donated to one of the places we give our comfort quilts.

I also finished one of my red and white quilts.

I have also had a chance to work on some of my yard work since we had some beautiful days.  Unfortunately I have a big job ahead, in a bunch of my gardens, and my brick walkways are growing weeds again.

My camelias are blooming.

What I will be working on for Slow Sunday Stitching is this label for my redwork quilt. Since it is nursery rhymes in redwork, I found an image of a coloring book Humpty Dumpty and made it into my label.  I need to finish the stitching on this one.

I will be linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Your SAHRR looks amazing, Karrin as do all of your projects. The Nursery Rhyme red work is adorable. It is a job cleaning off patio pavers isn't it? I need to do the same. Enjoy your day. Hugs.

  3. Fabulous job on your SAHRR quilt! It really came alive as it was all put together. Your flowers are beautiful. The weeds on the bricks are intimidating, but only get worse, so yes you will need to do it. Do you power wash it or do it by hand?

Nice label! Those weeds are a pain to control. I have a weed burner that runs off a small tank of propane. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/garden/garden-care/weeders/115477-mini-weed-torch?item=PT612&utm_source=free_google_shopping&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping_feed&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAClVJ5iDp-95r6rYSJQohJ9i7Hooi&gclid=Cj0KCQiAlbW-BhCMARIsADnwasoIjWz886qXoYmFo_FixifEMIyQOFU4iJx6BDMOtZdZe4xRM9nl2tEaAhicEALw_wcB

  6. It must have been a welcome change to be at home and work on your lovely projects, Karrin. Your SAHRR looks wonderful; as does your red and white pretty. Such a pity we don't live closer to each other. My Pete would have those brick walkways looking spiffy in next to no time. =)

  7. Your SAHRR looks wonderful, Karrin! I love the redwork, too - and that is the perfect label for it. I love that you have flowers blooming already! Good luck with the weeds - they never give up, do they?!

  8. I love your header photo! So cute and filled with memories. Lovely. I do love quiet weeks and it sounds like you were productive! That quilt top is so pretty! I’m curious about your red quilt. What brand of embroidery floss did you use? I have a red quilt to make, but am unsure about the possible bleeding. Yours is lovely!
I bet your walkways look so pretty now! And your flowers…beautiful! Ever since I read your post, I’ve had coloring books on the mind! Thank you for sharing!

  9. Yard work? What is that? We still have frost in the ground. Only a few spring birds have arrived. But it makes for good quilting weather. Great SAHRR quilt! Don't you just hate it when you put it together wrong?
