VICTORIA STRIKES AGAIN, QUILTER'S BLESSINGS

My mail lady Victoria brought another package last week. This one came from Nadine in Belgium.I sent her some of my over-abundance of Civil War reproduction fabrics, and she sent me this wonderful fabric covered box in return. It was jammed full of gorgeous trims, laces, threads fabric and buttons for CQ. Nadine made the box and I love it. I am going to use it as a little sewing box out where I do my hand work, if I ever take my goodies out of it. Thank you Nadine again, you made my day!

What I have been doing the past week was taxes. Thank goodness those are done.

I also worked on the block for my RR Bloggers group, I got this month's installment of our 15-month RR done. This is month 6, and I had Amy's block. Unfortunately, I cannot show this one as it remains a secret until the owner gets their quilt back at the end of the RR.

I finished my Quilter's Blessings block of the month designed by Bea at Capricorn Quilts.

Tomorrow, hopefully will have some CQ to show, and
Lynette Anderson's BOM, "Noah's Ark".

QUILTER'S BLESSINGS, MARCH

I finished my Quilter's Blessings block of the month designed by Bea at Capricorn Quilts.

I took DH to have his first eye operated on for cataract yesterday, and took this project along with me. They told us it would be 1-1/2 hours.
It was almost 2 hours. I had just finished this
and thinking what I was going to do next, as I did not bring a book with me. I had browsed about 5 minutes of People magazine when they brought him out. I think next month when he has his second eye done, I will have to bring more.

I even gave a stitch lesson to patient waiting to be called in and came and inquired about how to
do the stem stitch. She said she had gotten a huge stitchery kit somewhere and it didn't even come with directions!

LOT OF THINGS GOING ON

I have a lot of projects going on right now I finished my February block for the Quilter's Blessings block of the month hosted by Bea at Capricorn Quilts. This is the one project I can show.

I am also working on right now an RR Bloggers
round robin, which I can't show, the final result, after an eventual 15 month tour is a surprise to the block owner.

I am also beginning work on a purse entry for the CQ International purse contest, which will have to be a secret until after that is over.

Last, but not least, my youngest daughter Katie will be getting married August 10, 2008, and we have made arrangements for the place, the luncheon I will be doing mostly doing myself. Katie wants to wear my old veil that I made in 1971. It had something called a "Juliet cap" which does not fit Katie right. So I am going to revise that veil. Will have to take a picture before I take it apart and shorten it. For that veil, I hand cut scallops from some of the lace I used in the dress and appliqued it to the veil. I was pretty impressed looking at it again after all these years of what I accomplished when I was 21 years old.

QUILTERS BLESSINGS, DEAR JANE

I don't really have anything new to share this time. The company I work for asked if the past 2 days and today, I would put in the equivalent of 1/3 day overtime each of 3 days. By the time I get off work, I don't feel like doing much. As I stated in a previous post, I am working on Quilter's Blessings block of the month hosted by Bea at Capricorn Quilts. I finished January's block last week, and need to get February's ready to stitch.

I also thought I would share my Dear Jane quilt, which I completed in 2000, but took me about 7 years, working on it off and on to complete

FINISHED!

I finished my little Father Christmas for the Winter Quilt Swap and got it in the mail today. I hope my recipient likes it. I had a lot of fun working on it, and now am ready to do one of my own, maybe a bit bigger.

I came across Quilter's Blessings block of the month hosted by Bea at Capricorn Quilts. The blocks are embroidery and January is up. They are free and easy to download. I am going to slip this project into my things to do list, as I love the first block.

This afternoon I am going to work on finishing up a CQ surprise for daughter Kristen's 30th birthday. I was in a RR with some friends, and sent this around 2 rounds. Not much to do on it, and hope to have it finished by this Friday. Hope to post a picture later in the week after I finish.
