Blessings Quilt, Nutcracker Suite

I've been making progress on the Blessings Quilt.  This was from the Blessings Quilt Series by Jennifer Lokey and Karen Rosien.  This was something I started in 1999 with a group of online quilting friends.  I finished section 1 and 2, and put it in a bag along with the fabrics I had pulled.  I'm currently working on section 3.   I lost sections 4,5 and 6 instructions and am awaiting my order to come in. I have the instructions for the remaining 7-12 sections.  I had this on my list for quarter 2 of the 2019 Finish-A-Long, but not sure I will get it to flimsy stage.  I have a bunch of embroidery to do on the other sections and then a lot of piecing.

This piece was what I started out with when I pulled it out of the closet.

    I got this block finished

Am working on this one.  At least I put most of my instructions in the notebook!  Have no clue where the other ones are, but I have too much to accomplish this month to look for them.

Still need to do more piecing on this one.  Those flowers gave me a hard time.  Probably because I have black and white insructions, and there would be 4 f sections, all of different colors and I kept putting the wrong thngs together.

So all three of those make up section 3.  I will go on to section 7, at least prepare the embroidery, waiting for sections 4-6.

On the quarter 2 Finish-A-Long goals was to have 3 of the nutcracker blocks done. I got all 5 of the nutcracker blocks done.   I'm getting this Nutcracker Suite BOM from Shabby Fabrics.  These were laser cut and already had the fusible on them so I machine-stitched them down, and embroidered the details by hand.

Sweet Land of Liberty for May Done, Nutcracker Suite, Sew Lets QAL

I have a bunch of things to share today.  First, I finished my installment of the Sweet Land of Liberty, Cheri Payne's design.  We are working on it as a quilt-a-long on the Quilts by Cheri Friendship Group on Facebook.  Lori of Humble Quilts, had a quilt-a-long last year, but I came in when they were finishing up.  She is doing it again on the Quilts by Cheri Friendship Group on Facebook again this year.  Last night, I finished up stitching this month's assignment.  I did my letters and basket, hand and birds this month with wool applique.

Also the past several days, I have been working on a BOM I am getting from Shabby Fabrics called Nutcracker Suite by Cheri Leffler Designs.    I'm keeping sort of current with this one.  The past several days I have been fusing the laser-dye cutouts to the background fabric.  All I need to do now is get them machine sewn down.

Even though I have innumerable BOM's  that are years old, I had to get this one as I collect nutcrackers, and I loved it!

Also, I have been working on the Partners in Design Sew Lets QAL.  We get a block every two weeks.  Every two weeks, one of their designers has a block for us to do.  This block is binding clips along the edge of a quilt, designed by Jennifer Fulton of The Inquiring Quilter.  I posted this on the Partners in Design Facebook group last week, and someone pointed out my green clip was wrong.  I forced myself to get this block done last week when I was battling migraines.  Yesterday I thought, no problem, I'll just take the green one apart.  I did take the green one apart.   Then I realized the green and yellow half-clips were correct,  the other three were wrong.  The big rectangle is supposed to be holding the binding, not the other end.

So I just decided to start all over and pay attention to what I was doing.

I'll  be linking up to Monday Making at Love, Laugh Quilt , Moving it Forward Monday @Ems Scrapbag, and BOMS Away Monday @ What a Hoot.

Thanks for stopping by!

Making Progress. BOM's Away Monday

I have been slowly making progress on the Great Pumpkin Quilt.  This UFO was from 2006.  I started here in July working on this quilt.

At that time, I had 4 blocks that had 4 blocks that were ready to machine applique, and I got those done as part of my Finish-A-Long goals.

I have been slowly and steadily working on these BOM blocks.

I have now completed the 12 blocks, and I need to work on the top border strip. I'm really excited to be finishing this.

Last week in looking for a particular fabric, I came across 4 more BOMs, 3 never started/.  I'm going to be busy for a long, long time!  LOL!!
