Slow Sunday Stitching

It is time to check in again with Slow Sunday Stitching @ Kathy's Quilts.

I've been working on a number of slow stitching activities this week, but they most are a secret until next week with the Stitch it and Gift it Blog op hosted by Carla at Creatin in the Sticks.  My day is November 11th, next Monday.

What I continue to work on is the Buhl-Bushong blocks, although I am going to have to set these aside for now as this month's assignment is another border.  I need to prep those pieces for hand applique.  I have two more blocks prepped, with the crowns made. I'll work on those while I'm getting the border prepped.

l will also be working on a couple of Redwork Christmas ornaments.  I ran some Printable Stick and Stitch Sulky sheets through the printer and then stuck them on my fabric.  After stitching. I soak them in cold water and they dissolve.  I have no affiliation, but I have 3 packages of these I am using up.  I like to use them on the more intricate designs like the stocking below.

That's all I can show right now.  I'll be linking up at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.
Head on over and see what everyone else is working on.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I have never used those sticky things for stitching. Someone once told me that it made your stitches a bit loose once the "sticky" was removed. Do you find that to be true?

  2. I love your stitcheries in the last post as well as these. Of course! I have never heard of this product. It sounds like a time saver from all the tracing.

  8. I've never seen these sheets used before! The tracing out of the pattern is the part of embroidery I like the very LEAST! I'm going to have to check these out. Where do you get them? Both of your Christmas stitcheries are darling! Where did you find them? :)

  9. I use the sulky on my 12 days of Christmas projects and I really like it. But in the uk it is very expensive costing over £1 per sheet. Those little red work stitcheries are going to be lovely!

  10. How interesting, never heard of those sheets! I’ll have to see if I can get them here because tracing is the least favorite thing! Thanks for sharing! They’re very pretty stitcheries xx
