First up, I was trying to get one of my goals done for the first quarter of the 2020 Finish Along done. I'll be posting my results for the first quarter in a few days. But I was able to stitch another Father Christmas, and then put a few more blocks together. There are just 3 more blocks to do, and they will go along the left side. This was a Laurene Sinema pattern, and back in 1998 or so, I did one block, the top right hand corner guy, and it sat lonely until last year when I started doing a block every once in awhile. But I can see the end in sight now. I hope to have this quilted by Christmas.
A couple of weeks ago I got the Primitive Gatherings newsletter and there was a freebie pattern in it. I stitched it up, and assembled it into a pillow for the season. This was one I couldn't stop thinking about until I finished.
What I will be working on this Sunday is April's project for the Kathy Schmitz's One Stitch at a Time Club. I just love this bunny, and I used a variegated Valdani thread for the flowers. I did this much just sitting watching TV tonight.
Be sure and visit the other's in the Hand Quilt Along too.

Your Santa piece is so beautiful--what great work you are doing on it...
ReplyDelete~ ~ ~ waving to you from afar on this Gray Sunday morning Julierose;)))
Your Santa looks lovely and so does your embroidery. We are so fortunate to have projects. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas quilt is just wonderful, you will definitely finish it in time for Christmas! I think I am going to try the Christmas Carol mystery quilt they are doing. I'd love to do it in wool, but I don't think I have enough scraps in the variety needed, but I'm pretty sure I could do cottons, thanks for the inspiration from your Santa quilt! Glad you guys are doing OK. We are well and safe here, very thankful. DH has had a great month, even hauled two truck loads of compost on a windy day with no issues; I am so thankful!
ReplyDeleteAll such lovely projects! I especially love your Christmas blocks. Don't you feel so lucky to be someone who has lots of hobbies to keep you entertained through these trying times. I find myself feeling very sorry for people who don't have hobbies!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and healthy
I am envious of your Santa blocks! I will never get any made if I don't set my pattern set out. Note to self....set patterns out where I will see them.
ReplyDeleteAlways love anything old world Santas and yours are no exception. Your work is so lovely and the pillow is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness me those projects are so adorable! Your pillow is very pretty with a perfect fabric for the backing. I've been thinking about joining the Kathy schmitz stitch club and seeing yours definitely makes me want to more!

ReplyDeleteYour Father Christmas blocks are really wonderful - so much detail in them! I'm enjoying seeing them come together!
ReplyDeleteYour Father Christmas quilt is coming along beautifully. It evokes a lovely whimsical feel, doesn't it. But....my favourite pretty you have showcased today is the sweet, sweet bunny. How adorable it is. Love the fabric on the back of the pillow, too. Have fun embroidering the bunny in the hoop.
ReplyDeleteThe bunny thinking of spring is sweet!! You’ve been busy these three weeks.👍
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful work with us! Love those Santas... that will be amazing to finish for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell the sizes of your Santa blocks but the one lower left with Santa in the center bordered by stars -- WOW! What a great block. This will be such a fun Christmas quilt!
