HQAL, Slow Sunday Stitching

It has been a busy couple of weeks.  We have two family birthdays I was trying to get gifts done for.  Granddaughter Kyleigh's birthday is 8/17, and daughter Katie's BD is next week, 8/24.   Her and her fiance Andrew went on a birthday adventure/camping trip to Crater Lake.

We usually try to celebrate the two birthdays together, Kyleigh's and Katie's, and the date we came up with was last week, 8/11 for the family dinner at my house.  On 8/10, Katie wanted all of us to go to Bodega Bay, so the members that were here went to Bodega Bay for a wonderful day.

Jeffrey her father, and her brother Keaton, were on their way back to West Virginia where Keaton will be attending college at Salem University.  Kristen flew back this week to move him into his housing,

They even toured Trans-Allegheny Lunatic  Asylum which was functional until 1994.

Meanwhile Jeffrey flew back home and the next day Jeffrey and Jaeger headed off to New Mexico to drop Jaeger off at UNM.

On 8/11 we had what was left of our family dinner celebrating Kyleigh's and Katie's birthdays.   For Kyleigh's BD I bought her a new tablecloth for her table, and made her this table runner.

For Katie's BD I made her this owl quilt made with a panel.  She fell in love with this panel at my guild's quilt show, so while I was sitting at the quilt show I ordered the kit.   I should have taken the pictures somewhere else besides in front of my great pumpkin quilt!

Katie also requested a mug rug of this picture when she was a teenager with her dad.  Katie also loves frogs, and purchased this frog fat quarter at last year's quilt show.

I finally finished the Kathy Schmitz bee embroidery.

What I will be working on for Slow Sunday Stitching is finishing August's Woven Wreaths, and then working on my redwork flowers.

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

I will be linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  Check out what everyone has been up to.

Thanks for stopping by!
