2019 Finish-A-Long. Quarter 4 Goals

It's time to make a list of goals for quarter 4 of the 2019 Finish-A-Long.   The link-up for goals starts tomorrow, October 10th and goes to the 18th of October.  There are a number of global hosts, but you can find out more about it here at Throw a Wrench in the Works, one of the global hosts.

My list is as follows:

1)  Quilt and bind Nutcracker Suite.    The top is done.  I want this quilt finished for Christmas!

2)  Projects done for the Stitch It and Gift It Blog Hop.  This is coming up November 11th to 15th, with my day being on the 11th.  This is hosted by Carla at Creatin in the Sticks

3)  Make bag for Klara's BD with mermaid stitchery.  This was one of the mermaid stitchery patterns that Joy from Days Filled with Joy kindly gave out last year.  I'm going to use it for the front of a bag for granddaughter Klara.

4)  Sweet Land of Liberty BOM for October, November and December. Lori from  Humble Quilts  is guiding us monthly in this quilt by Cheri Payne that is being done through the Facebook Group Quilts by Cheri-Friendship Group.  These are some of the parts I have done so far

5)  Ella Maria Duncan BOM through Sentimental Stitches October, November, December.
I have the first month done so far for September.

6)  Buhl-Bushong Quilt BOM to do October, November and December  assignments.  I started this BOM through the Facebook Group which is from the Virginia Quilt Museum's collection of quilts.

I have 8 of the blocks done so far, and the border

7)  Redo Hospital Sketches Civil War block by Barbara Brackman.  I'm redoing the bottom middle block as I am not happy with how it looks with the other blocks.  Figure out plan for finishing quilt

8)  Put together One Stitch at a Time blocks into a quilt.  These are blocks I have been stitching from the Kathy Schmitz One Stitch at a Time Club.  I want to have this finished for Christmas.  These are some of the blocks I have done so far.  I have 1-1/2 more to do.

9) 2 Christmas panels put together for Christmas.  These are panels I got years ago on clearance.  I had it on my list last year and they didn't get done.  I'd like to get these off my to-do list.

10)  Quilt Crow's Foot.  This was designed by Cheri Payne.  I'm going to get this quilted as a warm-up to Nutcracker Suite above.

11)   Quilt my Fall Into a QAL, designed by Partners in Design from last year.  This is another warm-up, but I am also going to gift it at Christmas.

12)   Mermaid wallhanging for Kyleigh for Christmas.  Kyleigh loved my mermaid wall hanging so much, I told her I would make something similar.

13)  Project for Virtual Cookie Exchange.  This is hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt, and my day will be December 6th

I think I had better stop here,

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be linking up at Throw a Wrench in the Works when the link-up opens.

2019 Finish-A-Long, Quarter 2 Goals

It's time to list my goals for the Quarter 2 of the 2019 Finish-A-Long.  You can join in the fun too, it is the start of the new quarter.  I usually link up at Marci Girl Designs, but if you click her link there are a whole group of hosts.

1.  6 Quilts completed and mailed for the Hands2Help project.  I have 1 completed already, 2 in flimsy stage.

Completed for Quilty Hugs

Flimsy for Mercyful Quilts, needs quilting

3)  Make 3 Nutcracker blocks.    These are still in the package.

4.  Applique Flourishes block #12 and assemble top.  I haven't started this yet.  Still need to prep block.

5.  I had originally made my list stating that I would finish stitching 3 redwork nursery rhyme blocks, but I finished one yesterday so it is now down to 2 more redwork blocks.  I finished Little Bo Peep yesterday. I have Yankie Doodle and another one left.

6.  Sweet Land of Liberty Sew-Along with Humble Quilts for April, May and June.  The past several days I have been working on the April blocks.  Not finished yet, but getting there.

6.  Two Father Christmas blocks.  These still need to be prepped for hand applique.

7.  All Things Bright and  Beautiful to flimsy.  This is another old, old UFO, combination of stitchery and pieced blocks.  This was on my list for Quarter 1 and never got to it.

8.  Keep up with Hospital Sketches BOM for April, May and June.  This is by Barbara Brackman at Civil War Quilts.    This was March's block.  The blocks come out the last Wednesday of the month.

9.  Sweet Annie to Flimsy.  This is another old, old, UFO. I found it in the same container that the pink and brown reproduction basket blocks were in.  Annie is stitched and attached to a sort of crazy pieced background.  I might restitch her.  This was certainly primitive stitching I was doing back in 1997 which is when I took this class.

Well I think that is enough to keep me good and busy for the next couple of months.

Thanks for stopping by!

2019 Finish-A-Along, Quarter 1 Finishes

It's time to link up finishes for the 2019 Finish-A-Long Quarter 1.  I continue to appreciate the motivation this gives me to get my numerous UFOs finished!

Back in January, I listed my goals here.  Lets see how I did.

1)  Piece the first two Nutcracker BOM months.  Completed.  I was able to get these done. The top picture has all the steps done as stated, although it looks unfinished.  I think those pieces go around the Nutcracker blocks.

2)  Embroider last 3 redwork blocks.  Not done  Sadly, I did not get to these as I participated in 2 blog hops during this quarter.

3).  Applique Flourishes #10 BOM.  Completed.

4)  Finish embroidery on Take Me to the Sea, and make into a pillow.  This was a Kathy Schmitz design.   Completed.  Fits in perfect with my decor.

5.  Make another section of Sweet Land of Liberty, a Cheri Payne quilt. Not Done. Lori at Humble Quilts is having a Quilt a Long again this year.  April is month 2, which is where I am starting in.  Last year I started when people were putting their quilts together.  I got this much done, which is pretty much month 1 except for the angel.  I finally found my directions too which I had had before.  So this item is going back on my list for second quarter.

6. Project for Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop.  Completed.  I had long wanted to make this quilt for my husband, had flannel fabric set aside.  It is heavier than anything.  The past couple of years, he has had to sleep in a hospital bed due to disability., and it seemed a perfect time to make it.  He thanks me everyday for making this for him.   It would be way, way to heavy for me to sleep under.  But as he is constantly cold, it is perfect for him and I am so thankful to have gotten this done.

7.  Project for Quilt Qwazy Queens Blog Hop.  Completed.   For this blog hop, I took some swap blocks on wool.  This was done in the crazy quilt group Crazy Quilting International.  I made a bunch of basket blocks on wool, sent them aroundto participants, and they embroidered on them.  My basket I had never completed.  For this blog hop I completed the embroidery on my block and put it together into a small wall hanging.

These blocks were embellished by other participants.

My unfinished block                                               After I finished the embroidery.

    Completed project

8.  Cherry quilt blocks to flimsy.  Completed.  I put these blocks I had found at some sort of estate sale together into a quilt for Hands2Help, will be donating this to Quilty Hugs charity.

9.  Good Fortune Mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter into flimsy.  Completed.  I sent this off to a longarm quilter and donated it to the Carolina Hurricaine Quilt Project

10.  One Father Christmas BOM block appliqued.   Completed.  This is an old, old UFO.  Had one block done for years.  Now there are two!

11.  All Things Bright and Beautiful, finish to flimsy.   Not done.  Never got around to this one.

So all in all I completed  8/11 projects on my list.
