CANDI'S BLOCK

I have recently been working on Candi's block, as part of a round robin my small group of friends
participate in. I was the last person working on this block and this is the section I worked on.
I did the purple and green around the lady silkie.


This is a closeup of the cone flowers. I really liked how they came out.

CQ RR, Room update

This is Susan's stocking in the CQ RR I am in with my friends
Moira, Susan, Gail, and Candi .

This is the whole stocking after I had finished.




















And this is the section I worked on. I added the Christmas tree, the holly, the feather stitch, and I decorated the white lace. I also added some green wreaths above that lace.









As far as the room redo, it is done. I have everything beautifully organized, LOL, and only have to add my art work back to the walls, and I wanted to repot my orchids before I put them back in the window. Then to cleaning up the guest room, and a major rehaul for my sewing room.
I need to make a trip to Goodwill. I also intend to make a little valance for the window. So relieved to have this behind me. Now I can have fun!

NEW CQ RR. Lighthouse Landscape

My small group of friends, Moira, Susan, Gail and Candi and I are starting another round of our round robin. Because I have had so much else going on, I decided to send around this pansy block. I had started the Peacemaker's 2001 CQ flower quilt, probably shortly after the calendar came out. I am almost finished with the sunflower block, and had pieced this Pansy block,. and silk ribbon embroidered the center pansy block, but never got any further. So this is what I am sending around this time. These ladies I am working with always work magic on the blocks we send around.

I finished my lighthouse landscape this past weekend. This is a closeup of the piece.

Molly's Lotto block, Gail's Stocking

I have been trying to get swaps and RRs completed before our vacation next week.
This is another Lotto block, this time Molly's. She was in a block of the month and had gotten behind, so she sent us fabrics from that. This was Civil War reproductions, but I forget the name of the block









And this is Gail's CQ RR stocking, from the small CQ RR I am in with a small group of friends, Moira, Susan and Gail. Gail is making a stocking for her daughter. This side, I worked on everything from below the lace to above the button. This had previously been stitched on by Susan and Moira.









This is the other side.
















The coppery seam is the one I worked on on this side. I sent this off to Gail last week. She is hoping to finish it up before Christmas.

What I Have Been Up To

I have been working on a number of things I cannot show pictures of, including my present for the person I am Secret Santa to, in the Chookyblue 2008 Secret Santa Christmas Swap. I finished my present, and I just need to package it up with a few other items.







This was another Lotto block, the monthly swap I am in with a small group of friends. October was also Captain Nancy's month and she sent us this fabric to make her the Swamp Angel block.

I finished it up and sent it off to her.










And this is Susan's CR RR block, from the small CQ RR I am in with a small group of friends, Moira, Susan and Gail.

I worked on the polka dot seam, and the one below the stripes.

It is really hard for me to get my lighting right so I can get a decent picture.

CQ RR,

I am sending off Moira's block today. This is the round robin I am in with a small group of friends, Moira, Susan and Gail.

This is the section I embellished, around the kitten.

I had commented to Moira that some of the fabrics and laces looked familiar. She told me they were ones I had given her!








This is the whole block.














Today is Keaton (DGS#2) 2nd birthday. He loves choo-choos, so I used my embroidery machine to
embroider a choo-choo on a hooded T-shirt.











This is the bed DH (Papa) just finished building for DGS#1 Jaeger. It has 6 drawers underneath and a secret compartment for Jaeger to put the treasure box Papa also made. It is a captain's bed, originally a pirate captain's bed, but he said now he wants it to be his Star Wars bed.

We delivered this the other night and assembled it. Keaton thinks it is his bed!




John plans this furniture and builds it himself. Most of the furniture in our house are what he has constructed.


This is another view. John realized after putting it together
that the headboard could be a little taller, he was worried about the window. So when he builds Keaton's bed and delivers it, he is going to make another headboard that goes up to the window ledge and we will take this one off.

Kyleigh also recently got a new, much taller bed, so Papa built her a stool, and I am going to stencil that today. She has a new "grown up girl's bedroom that has recently been painted and very nice.

CANDI'S BLOCK, MORE ON CQ VEST

As mentioned before, I am in an ongoing CQ RR with a group of friends: Susan, Gail, Moira, Candi and this month I worked on Candi's block.

Some of the stitching I added is hard to see, it was the string of pearls stitch going up the light purple seam on the right hand side of the block. Also below the image of the girl, I added the lacy trim along one border. And below that I did the silk ribbon embroidery on the dark purple at the bottom.







Also, last time I posted pictures of my vest, I should have pointed out the stitching that Susan did. I couldn't read my booklet right apparently the first time. She did the centipede-looking stitching, as well as the fan and the stitching above that.













Also on the opposite vest front, she did this pleated ribbon treatment with stitching. Sorry Susan, I didn't mean to omit you. I was so busy
trying to figure out what Candi had done, as she hadn't written in the book, and you had noted some of what she had done, didn't mean to ignore you!

SUSAN'S CQ RR, NOAH'S ARK

As mentioned before, I am in an ongoing RR with a group of friends: Susan, Gail, Moira, Candi and this month I worked on Susan's block.

It is really hard to see what I did on Susan's block. I really need to learn my camera better so I can zoom in, but I worked in the top, mostly right hand corner as you look at it. I did the fly stitch above the lady, and then on the orangish ribbon, I did stitching on either side, and I also embellished the ribbon though that is impossible to see.




This is the entire block, and it is ready to pass on to Candi when she has time to pick it up. We live a couple of blocks apart).











I also got the stitching for Noah's Ark done, though I don't have the sashing on yet. I decided last month, that as my granddaughter Kyleigh loves Noah's ark too, I would make 2 blocks each month. I am going to sash hers in some lighter colors than mine.

Right now, I am working on another RR block for CQI and hope to finish that up tonight so I can mail it tomorrow.

GAIL'S CQ RR

As mentioned before, I am in an ongoing RR with a group of friends: Susan, Gail, Moira, Candi and this month I worked on Gail's block. Gail's piece is eventually going to be a bed jacket, so she requested we put no silk ribbon embroidery, beads or anything that was going to make it 3D.


These are all three of the treatments I did on this block, the swirly fly stitch, the vine/flowers going up the green, and the purple string of pearls.














This is the whole block. Will be passing this on to Candi next.
