Sweet Land of Liberty, Slow Sunday Stitching

Yesterday I finished a section of Sweet Land of Liberty, designed by Cheri Payne.  I am working on it with a friend, but found out yesterday that Lori, of Humble Quilts will be doing another stitch along next year,.  She just finished up one recently, but I was starting mine at the the tail end of that one.

So I finished this block yesterday

And I sewed the sections I have together.  DH pointed out my "A" in the USA was wonky, but I told him it was primitive, it was fine.  The fact is I had trimmed my sections and then sewed them together, I should have trimmed last.  So it was going to involve making the top section over again, so I left it.

My other slow stitching this week has been a redwork embroidery that will turn into a Christmas table runner for my other daughter who likes owls. I am doing 2 of these, one will be at either end.

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Karrin, your section looks great! I think your A looks fine, too. It *IS* primitive! As soon as I have the crow on, I can put mine together. =) The owl looks very wise, a good idea for a table runner.

It will be fun having more people doing it, but I really enjoy it with you and Edi, too. Edi has been slow starting because of other obligations, though.
