UFO Blog Hop Starts Today, My Day

I'd like to thank Joan from Moosestash Quilting for the challenge of finishing a UFO, or something along an alien theme.  I have plenty of UFO's (unfinished objects) and was happy for this challenge.  I chose to finish two projects.  A list of the entire schedule is below.

The first project I decided to finish was my friend Jandra's Boho Bag.  I had had it at this stage for several months, the front of the bag partially embellished.  Jandra loves Minnie Mouse, so that was the theme.

I finished embellishing it first.  And added the lace, beads and fringe around the front flap.

I added doilies for pockets to the lining

The finished back and front.

I delivered it to her on Friday and she loved it.  She even has it displayed in her living room.

The second project I finished was my granddaughter Kyleigh's graduation quilt.  She graduated in May from nursing school in Boston.  I sort of had this mostly quilted when my Handiquilter Moxie decided to start doing some creative long stitches.  I took it off the frame and ended up finishing the quilting on my domestic machine while I was being sent a new part for the stitch regulator.  I gifted it to her this weekend.  The quilt was called Flourishes designed by Piece of Cake Designs.

So those are my two UFO finishes.  Be sure and visit the other talented bloggers below, and thanks again to Joan at Moosestash Quilting.

Thanks for stopping by!

  7. I love, love, love the label you put on your granddaughters quilt!

  8. Oh my goodness Karrin, that Minnie Mouse bag is incredible. What a beautiful labor of love! The quilt you did for your granddaughter is absolutely gorgeous and that's so heartfelt! I love it.

  21. TWO wonderful finishes. That purse has so many details to it to make it original and fun. Having made only one purse and it was a lot of putsy sewing so I admire your trims and additions. And the beautiful applique quilt is just wonderful; I hope your granddaughter enjoys it as much as you must have making and finishing it. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  22. Amazing. I love that Boho bag

  23. Your grand daughters quilt is wonderful but that BOHO Bag is over the top. I love that she is displaying it rather than using it.

  24. Lovely finishes! Thanks for sharing them!

  25. Great work on both of your finishes, Karin. The Boho bag is fabulous, as is your grand daughter's quilt which I also love!
