It has been another fun-filled week, with breakfast with friends on Tuesday, guild meeting on Wednesday, and getting ready for a quilt retreat. I ended up not taking enough projects to work on by machine, though I did have hand work to do.
I finished my blocks for the Stay at Home Round Robin, which this week was prompted by Brenda @Songbird Designs and was for quarter log cabins. I ended up not taking enough red pieces, so I will finish the last one at home.
Monday is the last prompt and I will start putting my top together the rest of the way.
I also finished my applique piece and put a braided border on with Bonnie Hunter's instructions, it is in her freebie section. This will be one of my entries in our May quilt show which is red and white quilts.
These will surround this quilt, which has been in limbo for 20+ years. It will be king sized for my bed.
What I will be working on for Slow Stitching Sunday will be this little Hawaiian piece. A guild friend gave it to me as she knew I loved applique. Her mother passed away last year and it was one of her mother's UFO's. I hope to quilt it and enter it as a pillow in our quilt show, and then give it to my friend and her sister to share.
