At the beginning of the month, I set my One Monthly Goal here to be finishing block #12 of this old, old BOM UFO Flourishes by Piece of Cake Designs. I am happy to say I finished it today, all 32 leaves and 42 circles. The circles aren't perfect, but it is done at long last.
After I finish by Hands2Help quilts, I plan to start putting this together. I will be linking up with Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal. I continue to appreciate this monthly motivation.
One thing that brought a smile to my face last week was my wisteria flowering. I have had this plant probably 8-10 years, and this is the first time it has bloomed.
Because of all the rain we had earlier in the year my flowering beds are chock full of weeds. I am still not finished. See that green stuff on the right-that is this sticky weed that spreads all over the place. I have a brick patio, and walkway which has moss when it is cool and raining, but then it starts growing grass I have to pick out. I am about 1/2 way through doing that. I had 4 feet tall dandelions I have had to cut with a branch cutter. They are very hard to pull off.
Two days this week I had a migraine that nearly incapacitated me. I'm thankful that is gone now.
I have one of my Hands2Help quilts quilted and binding sewn on. I just need to sew down the binding. I hope to get another one on the frame today.
Thanks for stopping by.
That is such a lovely block! A lot of applique and little pieces but it will be so gorgeous in the finished quilt. Love wisteria, I should look into whether it will survive our very cold winters.
ReplyDeleteLove the happy Piece of Cake block!
ReplyDeleteWisteria is gorgeous, but I don't think I can grow it where I live.
Your BOM is beautiful as are your real blooms! Karrin you came in as a no reply blogger when you left me a sweet comment on my Diamond runner today, I just wanted to say thank you!
ReplyDeleteI like that yo9u used a variety of green fabrics for your leaves.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty block and your circles look good from where I am sitting.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so pretty! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
ReplyDeleteSorry you haven't been well. That is a beautiful block!
ReplyDeleteGood that you are feeling better now. The quilt block is so cute. The wisteria is a favorite flower of mine as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely block! Congratulations on completing your OMG for April.
ReplyDeleteYour applique block is just gorgeous, Karrin. I don't notice that your circles aren't round and I'm sure it doesn't matter -- when all the parts look so beautiful together. Congratulations on meeting your goal for April!
