ScrapHappy March

It’s time for showing off our scrap projects! ScrapHappy is open to anyone using up scraps of anything – no new materials. It can be a quilt block, pincushion, bag or hat, jewelry, dolls, socks or a sculpture. Anything made of scraps is eligible.

I'm still working on Winter Blues, a pattern by Bonnie Hunter.  This was cut out entirely from my scrap bags.   Last month this was where I was.  Right after this, I had to pick up my design floor as  I had some ladies from my guild come over to work on community service quilts.  It's at my house the 3rd Wednesday of the month.  So I picked it up, and put it in my sewing room.  I had to sort out all the components again when I got it out again.

I got it out again last week, sorted the pieces out again.  This is where I am now.  I have 3 more rows to add to the bottom half, and then I can join the sides.  I am hoping to finish this section of the top before I have to pick it up again next Tuesday in preparation for work day.
Then it will be to piece the border.

If your scrap collection is out of control and you’d like to turn it into something beautiful or useful instead of leaving it to collect dust in the cupboard, why not join us on the 15th of each month? Either e-mail Kate at the address on her Contact Me page, or leave a comment on her Scrap Happy Post. You can also contact Gun via her blog to join. We welcome new members. You don’t have to worry about making a long-term commitment or even join in every month. Regular contributors receive an email reminder at least three days before the event.

Check out what the other members are making with their scraps this month.

  5. I hope you close in on that finish. Maybe that's what you were doing today after guild meeting? Blue and white is always a winner.
