This week was our guild meeting, and it was a nice meeting. We received 18 or so quilts for our Community Service. I spent one of my days this week preparing backings for 6 quilts we had received at the previous meeting. Next week is our workday at my house where we cut batting and binding and package them up in bags with our labels, so we will have them prepared for our basting day next month. We didn't have basting day last month because we skipped 2 workdays in November and December because of Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have a 5th Wednesday this month, where we work on quilting quilts or piecing quilts. We meet at a local church for about 4 hours and have a potluck lunch.
This week I assembled some blocks for the Stay at Home Round Robin, hosted by Quilting Gail. These were blocks I had picked up the free table at our guild.
This week I also worked on a quilted coat for my grand-dog Maple. The only thing left to do is the binding and adding the Velcro and stitching buttonhole stitch around the opening where you can attach the collar clip.
This is Maple, and my granddaughter Kyleigh and her fiance Andrew.
This week I also finished a birthday gift for my daughter Kristen. She loves birds and I have had this project for about 2 years, intending it for a gift for Kristen. We are having a family dinner on Tuesday night for Kristen.
I've also been working on grandson Keaton's beanie. I hope to have it done by Tuesday night so I can give it to him Tuesday night, before he leaves for school back in West Virginia.
I have about 6 rows to go. This is what I will be working on for Slow Sunday Stitching. I will be linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
Well isn't Maple the best dressed dog around town. The quilted coat is cute. Lovely felted bird for your daughter. You are an energiser bunny, Karrin, with all that you do. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute coat for your granddog!
ReplyDeleteAmazing free blocks you picked up at your Guild's table!! They are a great choice for the SAHRR center...those embroidered ones give a nice vintage feel to the lovely birdhouse blocks. Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteP.S. I really love your "header" just beautiful...
It sounds fun to have those work days with your guild friends! Basting quilts is a big job - probably so much easier with more than one person. I love your wool piece for your daughter! I bet she will love it.
ReplyDeleteOh! I love your header picture! Well done! That quilted coat for Maple is so very cute! What a lucky dog! Lovely bird mat! Sigh…I love wool work!
ReplyDeleteMaple’s new coat is going to make all the other dogs jealous of his style and flair! It seems your whole family enjoys the fruits of your labours ! The bird mat for your daughter will certainly bring a smile to her face. Your charity committee is very productive with the help of many guild members. Well done! Gail at the cozy quilter
