Hands2Help, Mail Call

I've had a busy week.  Two days this week, I had grandchildren, John two days, and his sister Klara one of those days.  We had a great time and spent some time at the park across the street.  One day, John spent chasing 3 little girls.  Everytime he would stop, they would come back over and say something to him to chase them again.

Klara spent her time playing with 2 little boys in the sandbox, slide and a maze at the park.

I was able to piece two backings for the 2 blue Hands2Help tops I have ready to quilt    After I got through with those two, I had another stack of scraps that needed to be cut up.

I got out the Accuquilt Go my DH got me several years ago, and made short work of those piles.

While I had the Accuquilt out, I had a squirrel moment, and wanted to use the Sunbonnet Sue die I got last year.  I had intended this top to be for Jack's basket, and wanted to use this sashing, but then found that unless I was going to match up the pinwheels printed on the fabric for the sashing, I didn't like them to sit together.  Therefore I added the purple color.  Now it is too big for a Jack's Basket in the Hands2Help, so this one will also go to Quilty Hugs.  I really love how quickly this went together, and plan on making another one the right size for Jack's Basket.

This week was a good mail week too.  Recently here I talked about winning a $25 gift card from Fat Quarter Shop in the All About Strings Blog Hop hosted by Carla at Creatin in the Sticks.  I received the charm square packs I had picked out.  Love them all!

I need to get out today and get some yard work done.  With the rain off and on for weeks, I haven't gotten the back mowed yet and it is a mess!  Grandson John asked me the other day "When is the yard guy coming?"   Guess I'd better get it mowed  before he gets here on Tuesday!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love those blues Karrin, I want to do a blue and white quilt when I finally get the scraps/stash down to a realistic level! Until then all I get to buy will be neutrals. I think I am starting to get closer though. I have two in the works and another two to start on once these are caught up. By then, I think it will be time to take inventory!

  2. Wonderful blues you used the gift card to buy. Wonderful grandchildren, and so funny how they play, isn't it? That's a great shirt Klara is wearing. That Sunbonnet Sue is just wonderful, and someone at Quilty Hugs is going to be so thrilled to have it. My Jack's basket came out to 39", but I'm sending it anyway, and I'm making another smaller one. It's Christmas fabrics, but maybe the perfect Christmas baby will come along.

My lawn needs mowing, front and back, but it's been raining so much, Joel hasn't been able to come do it. Too bad for the neighbor trying to sell his house on one side, but the one on the other side looks worse than mine! Can't cut it in the rain, though! I hope you were able to get yours done. I'm lucky to have a friend's husband do mine.
