HQAL, Slow Sunday Stitching

Another three weeks has passed since we last checked in for the Hand Quilt Along.  I have finished a number of hand projects.

I finished the Kathy Schmitz stichery.

I finished the EPP'd block from the Pieces From the Past Stitch Along @ Melva Loves Scraps.

Right now for hand stitching, and what I will be working on for Slow Sunday Stitching are this tea towel designed by Stitcher's Revolution.   My sister is a wine drinker, and this is the third tea towel I am making for her for Christmas.

Also I'll be working on the Ella Maria Deacon blocks for this month.  I did finish one hand applique.

On Sunday, I will be working on this next one.

Be sure and visit the other Hand Quilt Along Links below to see what others have been up to.

Hand Quilt Along Links

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

I will also be linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  This is also my weekly motivation checking other's links.

Last Sunday, daughter Katie and I went to our hairdresser's who has been working out of her garage.  We got a picture after we had our hair done,

Katie's birthday was on Monday, and I finished quilting this quilt for her gift.   It was a Partners in Design QAL from 2018.  Katie loves owls, so I thought this would be perfect for her.  She loved it!

This was actually Katie and her kids on her birthday.

I had these two grandchildren, John and Klara on Thursday and Friday home-schooling.   They have been home schooling at my other daughter's house this whole Covid mess, and their cousin Keaton has been watching them this summer at his house.  Since Kristen was back helping granddaughter Kyleigh moved into her dorm, they asked me to take over so there would be adult supervision.

Also this week I did two more blocks of the Quilt Along by the Sea by Partners in Design.  I think I like the turtle the best.  The sun was supposed to have eyes and a smile, but I just pieced those in another shade of yellow.  I really didn't like the original version.  I might change his eyes and put some shades on, still deciding.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you have a nice, safe week.

  2. Great looking haircuts, I bet you feel like a new woman! Your sunflower turned out just splendidly, fabulous job on the EPP. I still haven't started Pieces of the Past, that may have to be my next piecing project. Loved the pix of your younger grands, glad you get to be with them! Enjoy your stitching, I love looking at what you've worked on each session. 😍

  5. Wow - you have been so busy and everything is wonderful. I am a bit envious of all you've gotten done. I especially loved the sunflower and that turtle is priceless! I am working on tea towels too for gift giving. One daughter is a wine drinker and I have done a few towels for her. She loves them and yours will be loved too :) Great fun posting!

  6. I love your finished pieces. Your tea towel is looking great. I had my daughter Katie visiting us for a few days. It has been wonderful to see her. Home schooling is hard. I am supposed to return to the classroom on Thursday, but I am hoping to work remotely at home as the plan is to have me work remotely any way from a closet sized office. I think it is wonderful that you were helping your grandchildren with their schooling. Stay safe.

  10. Wonderful projects. This week I'm partial to the sunflower block. I've yet to visit the hairdresser. I think I would feel safe in a garage for a haircut. The school situation is hard for all the kids.

  15. Who would've thought that visiting the hairdresser would be as difficult as it has now become. Love your finished Bee Kind stitchery; it is so sweet. Enjoy your week working on all your lovely projects.
