Slow Sunday Stitching

Another busy week has passed.  I have been trying to get caught up on the BOMS I have been working on, since I had worked on granddaughter Kyleigh's BD gifts, and had gotten a little behind.

Kyleigh and her dad made their way back East last week, stopping in Yellowstone and various other places along the way.

My other 4 grandchildren have started virtual school this past week.  The two older boys are Kyleigh's brothers Keaton and Jaeger.  Keaton has been watching his two younger cousins this summer.  This was the first day of school picture this year.

So this week I started and completed this Kathy Schmitz stitchery from the One Stitch at a Time Club.  I really like the way this one came out.

I also finished the last block from Pieces from the Past Sew Along by Melva @Melva Loves Scraps.  These are blocks originally from the Kansas City Star.  Melva got special permission from C&T Publishing her to share these blocks with us.  This is called the Russian Sunflower.

This week for Slow Sunday Stitching @ Kathy's Quilts I plan to work on last month's Cassandra's Circle block, the Wild Rose.   Right now I just have the stems down, and the center flower.

Next up, will be finishing up this tea towel.  I set it aside before.  This is the second time I have made this design.  It will be for my sister for Christmas.

I will be linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching @ Kathy's Quilts,  Be sure and head over there and see what everyone else has been up to.  I always get my weekly inspiration reading about what everyone has been doing.

  1. I always think Kyleigh has the most beautiful smile. You must be so happy Kyleigh and her dad made it safely back to the east. Your completed stitchery is so sweet. I love the words, especially poignant in these times. The Russian Sunflower is beautiful; just look at all those points. Enjoy your Sunday stitching of Cassandra's Circle block....it is lovely.

Beautiful smile Kyleigh has... her family ready for school will be a memorable fall. I hope by January kids can SAFELY return to the classroom. I agree though that home remains the best place for now.

  12. I love the saying on that tea towel - fits my thinking perfectly! You have lots of other fun stitching going on there, too, Karrin. Hope it's a good school year for all of your grands - it's a tough time to figure everything out for students and families.

  13. So so fun to be working on the same project! Go slowly so you don't finish way before me! LOL Great job on the Bee Kind stitchery! Thanks for taking the time to link up with the Slow Sunday Stitchers!

  14. Your granddaughter is just beautiful! I hope she and her dad arrived safely.
You Bee Kind block with the bee and skep are charming. Such fine embroidery. And your Russian Sunflower -- such a lot of careful piecing and stitching. It looks great! I like the message on your tea towel. I'm not a quitter either. ;-) Must have a little chocolate every day.
