What I am slow stitching on for the next couple of days are a couple of gifts.
The first is for my youngest granddaughter Klara who will be 6 the end of the month. I will be giving her a doll, but I thought I would make a little bag for her. I'm using one of the mermaid stitcheries that Joy at Days Filled with Joy offered last year. I'm almost finished with this one. The dark purple looks better than this in real life. I was taking my pictures late last night.
Next up is one of Kathy Schmitz's patterns. This will eventually be a gift for one of my daughter's for Christmas. I'm taking several of these I have stitched and put them together for a small wall hanging.
I'm linking up with Kathy's Quilts Slow Sunday Stitching , and wish the retreat goers a wonderful time!
That mermaid is adorable. All little girls love purple. I really like that bird too. I look forward to seeing the wall-hanging when it is done.
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts you are stitching up. Your lucky grand daughter receiving a super mermaid bag. I hope kathys slow Sunday stitching retreat was a success.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter will be very happy with the bag. I like the idea of putting the Kathy Schmitz designs together in a wall quilt. I have one of her books and would love to embroider some of them but didn't want to make them the way she suggest. DUH! Why didn't I think of your idea too? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLittle girls love mermaids. Purple is a hard color to photograph. You have a good start on your slow stitching gifts.
ReplyDeleteOh my granddaughter is really into mermaids too right now. Can't wait to see you turn it into a doll. She is a very lucky little girl
ReplyDeleteBoth the mermaid and little birdie are sweet. The face of the mermaid is adorable. It sounds as if your daughters are going to have a beautiful handmade Christmas; gorgeous pretties made with love.
