Stay at Home Round Robin, Week 4

Information about the Stay at Home Round Robin can be found @Quilting Gail.  Rather than traveling quilter to quilter as for usual round robins, you keep your quilt at home, and each week one of the designated 7 bloggers gives you a prompt on what to do for the next round.

The new prompt for the Stay at Home Round Robin was posted today by Roseanne & Sue @ Homesewn by Us, which was a checkerboard border.  I was thinking about what fabrics I wanted to pull.   All of a sudden a thought popped in my mind that I had some already sewn red and neutral four patches leftover from  Bonnie Hunter's Good Fortune mystery from a couple of years ago.  This was my version.

I had a baggie full of four patches, they even had pressed, spun seams, ready to stitch.

I had all four sides ready to sew on, when I noticed I had two reds together, so some ripping was done, several times.

This was my finished piece.  It is measuring about 39 inches now.

Will be linking up @Home Sewn by Us.

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Hi Karrin! What a stroke of genius, using up those cute little 4-patch blocks that you had already made. And don't they just look so darn cute?! I am partial to red and white, and especially a scrappy version like you chose. Win/win all the way around. Great job and thanks for linking up. ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. Your quilt looks amazing, Karrin and still loving the staggered flying geese. The four patches worked out beautifully.
