Slow Sunday Stitching

I've had quite a bit of slow stitching this week.  I finished stitching on the mermaid that was from Joy of Days Filled with Joy's  Mermay Days last year.

I wanted to use this on the front of a bag for my granddaughter Klara.  I added the mermaid to the front of the bag.  You can see her name pretty good.  These are iron-in letters I had leftover from another project.

When I went to put the bag together I realized her name wasn't going to show very good, but I can't get the letters off, so I guess that will be the way it will stay.  The bag was actually the same bag I made for granddaughter Kyleigh for her sewing bag.  This was a tutorial by Jenny of Elefantz here.  I'm going to be making another sewing bag this week for a Christmas gift.   This was #3 on my Finish-A-Long Goals for Quarter 4.  My list is here.

I did 2 more of the Kathy Schmitz stitcheries which will be put together into a wall-hanging pretty soon.

I also am working on this month's assignment for the Sweet Land of Liberty BOM that is being done on Facebook, with the guidance of Lori from Humble Quilts.

Today I will be working on appliquing these down.

I'll be linking up with Kathy's Quilts.  Head on over there and check out what others have been doing.  Today she is giving a report on her first ever Slow Sunday Stitching Retreat that occurred last Sunday.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I really appreciate the comments!

  4. Love the mermaid against that fabulous fabric! What a beautiful bag. I know I have said it before but the mermaid's face is very sweet. A gorgeous bag, Karrin. As for your other stitching, all are fabulous. I hope you have a day filled with happy appliqueing!

  8. It won't matter that Klara's name doesn't show up well, it will still identify it as hers, and the mermaid is so adorable. I love Joy's/Elizabeth's designs! Kathy's stitcheries look great in your stitching models, too. You've been doing plenty of hand work!
