Hand Quilt-A-Long, Slow Sunday Stitching

Boy January just flew by, especially the past 3 weeks, and now it is the first Hand Quilt-A-Long check in for February.

Last week I was able to get my Love Sampler finished.  This is one of Kathy Schmitz's stitcheries.  I wasn't working on any applique at the time, and it went pretty fast, and then I was just ready to GET IT DONE!   I knew my applique BOMS were coming up in a few days.  It's even framed and not in a pile of things to finish!

I'll be working on several things for my handwork this weekend.  I have my Color It Red project which I am hand-quilting.  This is only the third thing I have hand-quilted, and it is not perfect or even near it.  So we can just call it "primitive quilting".  It is a small enough project I should have it done in a week or two. Can't reveal it just yet.  My day for the Color it Red Blog Hop is February 21.

The other thing I will be working on is Cassandra's Circle, Barbara Brackman's new Civil War BOM.  I prepped the pieces today, so it will be ready to applique.  This one is called Washington's Plume, and it is on a 36" block.

Check out the other Hand Quilt Along links below

Hand Quilt Along Links

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.
Kathi,  BellaDaisy and Connie

I will also be linking up at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  Head on over there and check out what they have been doing too.  I love these Sundays when both are together!

Wonderful! I'm calling my quilting big stitch. :) Did you happen to notice my header of the snowmen family. I stitched a few of these blocks a couple of years ago and just unearthed them...they are Kathy's design too. Love her work. This one you have done is just lovely.

Oh, how beautiful your red Love cross stitch is, Karrin. It looks fabulous framed. My quilting is always "primitive" too. I don't suppose my hand quilting will ever be regarded as perfect. I am looking forward to the reveal of your Color it Red pretty.

Your Love Sampler looks terrific!! You really did speed through that; I'm impressed! I'm saving the Cassandra BOM, but not sure I'm ready to tackle it yet. If/when I do, I'll probably do that one in wool! Have a fun week! :)

Your Love stitchery is pretty and quite nice for the upcoming Valentine's Day. Did you frame it yourself?
