Welcome to my day of the Christmas In July, (then and now) Blog Hop! First I want to thank Carol of Just Let Me Quilt for the chance to participate in this fabulous Blog Hop! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love to decorate, it starts the day after Thanksgiving.
As soon as a signed up for this hop, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. I have wanted to make it for years, ever since this book came out. It is called Holly Baskets and it was the big quilt on the cover.
I bought the fabric right after the book came out, the ticking and other fabrics, and the whole bag of fabric has been residing in the top of my closet all these years. This quilt was designed by Gerry Kimmel-Carr. This is my version. I wasn't able to quilt it as my machine is in the shop still for warranty repairs.
Last year for the Christmas In July Blog Hop I made this Christmas Tree Skirt for my sister.
These are some of my other Christmas quilts, including this one I completed last year.
And two of my very first Christmas quilting projects back when I first learned to quilt. I've been quilting since 1995.
Be sure and check out the other projects from the other blogs. I've included the entire list below. Thanks again to Carol @ Just Let Me Quilt for hosting this fantastic blog hop!

ReplyDeleteIs the center of your newest quilt appliqued? It's gorgeous and it was great to hear that you also had/have good intentions to make something. The other Christmas projects are wonderful, too.
ReplyDeleteKarrin, I love everything you make! The newest quilt is gorgeous - that center looks like a lot of work, but so worth it. The last photo you showed is a really neat design, too. Are those trees appliqued?

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your Christmas quilts! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you started quilting in the 90s. I thought you'd ALWAYS been a quilter! That must be when we got to be friends, so it seemed that way. 1995 was the year I bought my longarm, too. I know you have beautiful Christmas quilts, and decorations. This new beautiful project will join quite a group of wonderful Christmas themed makes. I really like the fabrics, and I'm glad you bought them at the same time as the book. I hope your machine comes back when they say it will this time.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful quilts. I really love the nutcracker quilt. It looks familiar. Who is the designer?
ReplyDeleteI'm a nutcracker person, so of course, I loved those projects, but the tree quilt... way cool!! I wouldn't mind having that pattern as I definitely believe I'd make it. It's just wacky enough for my taste. Loved all your projects tho.. Each are fun and fab...
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice collection of Christmas quilts you've made. I especially like the Holly Baskets top that you finished, hope you will post again when you have it quilted.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning collection of quilts and your latest with this basket is another beauty!
